Erica Renee Walker is a Believer, Author, International Speaker, Filmmaker, Producer, and Traumatic Brain Injury survivor from St. Louis, MO. By the grace of God, she survived a gunshot wound to her head in on June 1st, 2008, which was the greatest test of her life. Determined not to allow her traumatic brain injury to stop her dreams, she went on and continued her education and graduated from both the University of Phoenix, where she earned her Associates in Communications, and the University of Missouri-St. Louis, earning her Bachelor’s in Media Studies.
With God by her side, Erica has become a triple threat in the media industry and is blazing the trail for people with brain injuries and disabilities. She wrote her 1st book, “Through the Lens: A Book of Short Stories and is currently writing her 2nd book, “Dear June 1st – A Story of Trauma, Struggle & Purpose.” Erica has also produced and directed four documentaries while in the Continuity Media Training Program, in which one was selected to be in the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase. Through it all, she makes it her mission and passion to educate others about gun violence and brain injuries.
Erica believes everyone should become knowledgeable about gun violence and brain injuries, especially since brain injuries are a silent epidemic that plagues millions of people all around the world. In her spare time, she loves completing puzzles, word games, writing, reading, creating, and hosting her online platform show, TBI UNcovered, and inspiring the masses with not only her story, but other brain injury survivors’ stories as well, and looks to change the world one story at a time.
